Roswell chronicles

So here I am in Roswell, NM. The town of that infamous UFO crash in the late 40's. T'is a funny little place, moreso that it houses a one, Joy Waide; anyways. Yesterday we did some more cruisin and then we watched
The Ringer (very funny) last night and just watched the tube, looked at pictures, reminiscied, etc. Good times.

I got up fairly early today and did some 'God-time', etc, then Joy and I called Jaci (Rochester, NY) and I arranged to visit her for a day on my way through to St Catharines. THAT.........is crazy. That would make 4 House #9'ers in this trip. Weird. That in itself, must be a "God" thing. Anyways, that about it.

Check out these pics of Roswell, and there are many more pics of my trip thus far located in my sidebar to the right. I also have some sweet videos in my MY VIDEOS section that are recently updated. Enjoy guys. Till the next time.......................'the truth is out there............'!

Oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

in Roswell

OK, 25 hrs on a Greyhound from Nashville and I land in Roswell, NM. I had the worst person I ever travelled beside, on the Oklahoma City-Amarillo leg of my trip. OH MY GOODNESS, I wont get into it, but it was NOT fun. But overall, it was alright.

Anyways, I got into Roswell about 5am, sunday morning where Joy pickes me up and we cruise Roswell for a couple hrs. We go to WalMart and see some crazy alien drawings plastered all over the walls and stuff, funny. I havent seen any aliens, par se, but a few of the crazies at the bus stop in Nashville were pretty sketchy!!

So we go to Joy's home church in the morning and that was pretty cool. Then we eat, and cruise out to Joy's grandpa's outside Roswell. We play cards, then play pool. I represent Canada and beat up Team USA (Joy and John) a bit. Then Joy and I cruise back to Roswell and eat at Chili's (kinda gross), then we have a big ole cruise and rave, then we park and rave and watch an amazing lightning storm. Then we go get ice cream at Wal Mart and call it a night.

Roswell is an interesting place, fo sho. It should be an interesting week. Joy absolutely rocks, and we are gonna have some fun!!

"Nashville................out!!"

Grace majorly slept in today (but,no sweat Grace, I still love you), but when she woke up, we had a serious rave-on. then Omar picked us up and we went and did some hooka (don't ask; you can look it up online) and some great Turkish coffee. Mmmmm, very strong coffee! Then we ate pizza at the Magic Mushroom. After an almost "Oh crap!" moment with my bus pass at the Greyhound bus station in Nashville, we found out that the next bus was like 8 hrs later, at 3am! So we cruised back to Franklin and went to Hilltop, which is a sweet spot located in the hills overlooking Franklin. We set a couple of small fires and started worshipping Jesus when the cops land and start threatening to arrest us all for tresspassing. I totally get the "spred-em" treatment with the whole 'hands behind your back sir' deal! The cops were fairly cool though. They let us go, recommending we take our propoganda to a local park within city limits, which we did. The locals(?) call it MySpace park and we totally meet up with God there. There was worshipping and praise, ministering to people, a wee bit of evangelization, and some God given prayer appointments, etc etc etc. Pretty awesome stuff.

Then Susan, Grace, Omar, and I head back to Nashville and go to Cafe Coco where we engage in more ministry. Jesus loves to heal people's wounds; I love it! Then they drop me off at the Greyhound Stn, and here I wait, ending my Nashville phase, and entering Stage Roswell.

Stage Nashville though was totally amazing. What a giant divine appt, truly. I would absolutely love to visit these saints again.

Seriously though, the cop scene around here is a little out of control. the place is infested. Homeland Security is a wee bit out of hand. I've had more dealings with cops since I left Canada than I've had in the past 10 years!! Crazyness. Anyways, it's all good. Praise God for North America!

last day in Tennessee

Today was a really mellow day. Grace had to work, so I did laundry, went for a walk, watched Crash, and that's about it. Grace came home round 6pm and we headed out with Omar to pick up Chelsea, Kat, and Evan from a worship session. Then we headed for downtown Nashville. We cruised around looking for something to do, looking for a place to eat, looking for a parking spot, etc etc etc. We went to a cafe, then looked for a dance club(?!), then this, then that. The city was crawling with cops. I've never seen the likes in all my life. Even the locals were shocked at the nuber of police around. It was crazy. Then Omar took us to a bridge overlooking the skyline and we went picture crazy. Some of the pictures will follow. But other than that, it's late, I'm tired, and I'm going to bed. I leave for Roswell tomorrow, hopefully the Lord will bless me with as permanent an internet connection as He has in Nashville. And you can see all my Nashville/Franklin/Brentwood/Cool Springs photos, as well as a couple new videos, on my sidebar, under photogarphy. Later.

the battle of Franklin/Nashville 1860something

Today I got a history lesson on the American civil war: battle of Franklin, and the battle of Nashville. Omar picked me up around 2pm and we cruised to the sites of some of the fiercest fighting in the Civil War. Pretty interesting stuff. We went to the Franklin site, then met Chelsea for some all u can eat Chinese buffet. Nice.

After that, we went to Starbucks and met up with Evan and his sister Amelia. Then we cruised to the Nashville battle site. Hung out at the fort site overlooking the once major battlefield. Crazy stuff, when you look into it.

Then we went downtown and hung out at an Arab(?) restaurant for a few. Then headed for church worship at Grace Center. More awesomeness. Grace landed there and then her, I, and Evan drive to the Nashville Airport to pick up Kat who was to arrive from Norway (another HoGi).

My time in Nashville has been great. I leave friday, but I could stay here for weeks and enjoy the company of these great people whom God has surrounded me with. I am humbled by His goodness. Really. A major shout out to Grace (of course) cause she is one of the most awesome people God has ever designed; and also a shout out to Omar, who is already, a proven friend. It all makes me wonder what God has for me in Roswell? And St Catharines? Who can take, and accept, all that God has for them? It really is too much sometimes.

a day of unbroken fellowship

I love to just sit and fellowship with people who are like-minded. I've said it before and I'll say it again, "There is much to be said for like-minded people." Grace Johnson is one of those people. After some good time alone with God this morning, Grace and I just sat (and ate) and raved about how our last year has been, where we're at now, and hopefully, where our lives are going. It was one of the best chats I've had in a looooong, looong time. Indeed.

Evan came over and we cruised to do some runnin around; then we went to Cold Stone for some cool treats. Some awesome stuff, on the menu. No Dreamsicles though :(. Anyways, we hung out there for awhile, then Omar met up with us and we cruised to Brentwood Baptist Church and there was like 500+ people all worshipping at a teusday night service! I was like, "Crazy!" What is up with this. It is not the only church in town like this either,
there are many. The question arose in my mind, "With all these young, hungry, Spirit filled believers, why isn't the world evangelized yet?" I guess only they (and God) truly know why? I guess. I sure don't. Then we cruised around looking at insanely expensive houses, then we went up on top of this hill overlooking Brentwood, TN. Awesome. Simply awesome view. It was just a great day; very low-key.

a day in Nashville (& Franklin)

Today
Grace had to go do some car stuff (thats her Honda to your right) so Omar came and picked me up and we toured around Nashville for the day. Good times. Omar is a good man, fo sho! Anyways, we were going to go to the war museum, but strangely enough, it was unexplainably closed? So we walked the streets for a bit before heading to this sweet coffee place where I ordered 'something strong!'. The girl recommended a 'Bulldog', which was a coffee with 2 shots of espresso. Good times. I must say, it gave even ole Tim's a run for its money.

After that, Omar took me to an Army Surplus store where we checked out some sweet war supplies from years gone by. After fooling around in there for an hour or so, we cruised out to Franklin where Grace lives. Then we went and washed Grace's car, then went grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, then Omar cooked us pasta, with a healthy dose of Amiel's hot sauce thrown in! Good stuff.

I wasn't really planning on doing a blog tonight, but I thought I better cause I don't know when I'll get internet connection on this journey. Tis been good though. It's been a while since I had a regular ole 'vacation' where I can not worry about anything but nothing. Anyways, hope to rave to you all again soon. Blessings.

on the road

All right everyone. Almost exactly 48 hrs after I left Charlottetown, I arrived in NASHVILLE, TN. According to my calculations I was about 24 hrs early!!! Not too cool, seeing that Grace was in Atlanta when I arrived. She got back early sunday morning though and called me. Supresa is speaking at her church today!!! Crazy. She and Omar pick me up about 5:30pm and we cruise to Sonic for a moment before heading to Grace Center for the evening service with Pastor Supresa. He preached about some of his testimony and, about David's being anointed king and about the anointing in general; amazing message, truly. Met some cool people, seen Lareasa (HoGi). Then Omar, Grace, and I went to IHOP for a late night meal. Have some great fellowship; I share mt testimony again, and stuff. Good times.

OK, you can see the itinerary schedule up above but I thought I'd give you the highlights I encountered on my way to Nashville:

- 2.5 hrs into my trip; 50 km outside of Moncton, a lady in a van spun out right in front of our bus and launched across the road in front of us almost to certain death! We slammed on the brakes while she came at us head-on. She and we managed to swerve in the last instant, narrowly missing each other, but she slammed into the side of out bus taking out our bus and her van. Lucky for her, she wasn't killed instantly. Needless to say, we had to wait there while another bus came and picked us up. Close call.

- At the U.S. border, the guards signal me out and take me inside for a search cause they didn't believe my 'story'. They totally harass me and interrogate me for like 45 min trying to get me to slip up and tell my 'real' reasons for being in the states. After wading through my many 'suspicious' Bibles and my 'unlikely' story of missions work in Africa, and going to Bible college in september, they let me go. Needless to say, at the end of it I was extremly disappointed with our 'friendly' neighbors to the south. Don't get me started; I'm still not over it. I was some dirty at the end of it.

- New York City........is amazing. I love it. The last time I drove through NYC was 9 yrs ago. This time I arrived in the wee hrs of the morn, and left at sunset. I don't know what bridge I exited NYC, but I got a panoramic view of Manhattan at sunrise. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Too bad I was on the wrong side of the bus to snap a picture. It was too big and crazy to capture anyway, I think, that's what I'm going with anyways.

- Just want to say that Greyhound bus drivers (as well Acadian) are awesome! What a great bunch.

- And one last thing. I haven't gotten any good pictures of the cities I've driven through. Almost every time I get a good skyline scene, it's either been the dead of night, or I've been on the wrong side of a packed bus. That is not cool. One of my favorite things in the world is viewing cities. I don't know what it is. It absolutely fascinates me.

Anyways, there you have it. An update from my time in Nashville with GRACE will be upcoming. Stay tuned, don't change the channel.

2 more sleeps.....

Today was a great day. I got up and did some reading, then tied up some loose ends. Then did some packing. I got ahold of Grace on the phone and had a great chat; Nashville shall be fun times. Then I went out to Jack and Shirley's for a 'surprise' (not really) get together with a bunch of church people. It was a real blessing. Got some good prayer and stuff; lots of blessings. Other than that, I'm kinda too tired to really think straight. I'm out at Mom's in Montague and the dial-up is getting aggravating. I'm trying to upload a pic of the crew who was at Jack & Shirleys (- Carinne) but it is taking waaaayyy to long. There is much to be said in support of high speed. Anyways, if this pic doesn't upload soon, I'm going to say "Forget it", and go to bed.......

...............Crazy, it uploaded. I was skeptical. Goodnight everyone. Jesus loves you, get some sleep

3 more sleeps........

Today was good too. I got up and did more correspondance. Then I took my drums over to my bro's for storage. Hopefully someone lucky person will buy them soon, and will help me pay for my second semester of Bible College! After we drank coffee, I went and did my final shift at the Upper Room Soup Kitchen. My 9 mths there were extremely enjoyable. Good times; I learned much from that experience. Then I moved the rest of my stuff out of Harvest House, (my 8 mths there were an experience as well); all except my computer. I write this post from Harvest House, but once I finish, my stable, routine internet access will be finished, and my posts may become less frequent :(, maybe? So after I moved, Tanya, Jamey-Lynn, Anne-Marie and Leah took me out to eat at Hunter's. My (somewhat crazy) exgirlfriend showed up there as well (too funny) with some of her friends, but I was able to avoid a confrontation, which was a bonus. So I hung out there for a couple hrs, then I cruised out to Bonshaw for my last monday night meeting at Dave & Lindsey's. A sad time as our weekly fellowship came to an end, but, season's change, I suppose. Anyways, we had good times, and learnt much from each other.

So, it was a fairly busy day. Tomorrow is more business. Much to do, many to visit and get ahold of. I kinda just want thursday to get here so I can spare the drama and just leave. Being the center of attention is something I cringe at. It's just not my thing. Oh well, soon enough. Once again, g'nite everyone. I pray prophetic dreams and visions for you all in your night season tonight.

and then there were 3

Today was a good day, indeed. I got up at 7am; showered, shaved, etc, and did some correspondance. Then I cruised to FaithWorks for my last service before I leave. Pastor Bill had me address the congregation and say a blurb about what I've been up to the last year and what I will be doing in the next year. Then the board gathered around and prayed for me, anointing me with oil, and saying anything they felt impressed too. Me likes.

I was supposed to be at work for 3pm, but Noel wanted me in attendance for the Harvest House service so that they could pray over me as well. Same kind of deal as at FaithWorks, only different. I ended up being a half hour late for work, but I had gave them notice of it previously. So it was no big deal.

And with that, I've only 3 days to go. Time flys, indeed it does. I've still got loads and loads to do though, before then, so I must go and plod through some more correspondance before bedtime. Have a good sleep everyone; dreams and visions........prophetically!

The Back Rows

Do you remember when the Lord Jesus Christ fed the 5ooo? Do you recall how He had them sit down, row upon row, on the green grass? Then do you remember how He took the loaves and fishes and blessed them and then broke them and gave them to His disciples? And do you remember how the disciples started at one end of the front row and went right along that front row giving everyone a helping? Then do you recall how they turned right around and started back along that front row again, asking everyone to take a second helping? Do you remember?

No!-a thousand times-no! Had they done that, those in the back rows would have been rising up and protesting most vigorously. "Here", they would have been saying, "come back here. Give us a helping. We have not had any yet. We are starving; it isn't right, it isn't fair. Why should those people in the front rows have a second helping before we have had a first?"

And they would have been right. We talk about the second blessing. They haven't had the first blessing yet. We talk about the second coming of Christ. They haven't heard about the first coming yet. It just isn't fair. "Why should anyone hear the Gospel twice before everyone has heard it once?" You know as well as I do, that not one individual in that entire company of 5ooo men, besides women and children, got a second helping until everyone had had a first helping.

There was an absolutely equal distribution of the food. With but few exceptions there has never been an equal distribution since. Some churches do not even go 50-50. They do not send as much to the foreign field as they spend on themselves.

I have never known a minister to have any trouble with the back rows. All his trouble comes from the front rows. Those in the front rows are over-fed and they develop spiritual indigestion. They tell him how much to feed them; when to feed them; when to stop feeding them; how long to feed them; what kind of food to give them, etc etc, and if he doesn't do it, they complain and find fault. If a minister had any sense, he would leave the front rows for a while and let them get hungry for once in their lives and go to the back rows, and then when he returned they would be ready to accept his ministry and there would be no murmuring or complaining.

My friends, I have been with the back rows. I have seen the countless millions in those back rows famishing for the Bread of Life. Is it right? Should we be concentrating on the front rows? Ought we not rather to be training the front rows to share what they have with the back rows, and thus reach them with the Gospel, those for whom nothing has been prepared?

Do you know that the greatest thing a church can do for itself is to send its Pastor to one of the foreign mission fields of earth? There is no vacation like it. He will come back a new man; for no one can see the need with his own eyes and ever be the same again. It will do something to him. He will have something to talk about. He will be worth infinitely more to the Church than he ever was before.

the benchwarmers

Tonight I met Ryan & Tonya, Kristina, Megan and Nathan, and Carinne at Dairy Queen for a bit before we were supposedly heading to a movie. It was supposed to be my last 'real' time with them all before I cruise. So we decided to rent a movie instead of going to the theatre. We went and got "The Benchwarmers"; we had all already seen it but no one was really against seeing it again. It was definitely a good choice. I think Carinne made the final decision? Other choices were Big Momma's House 2, She's The Man, or Chicken Little. The Benchwarmers is an awesome movie; go rent it! Other than that, it t'was a good day. Got lots of correspondance done, got some good prayer time in, had supper with Mack & Erin, Nan & Pop. Now I have to crash soon, so I can get up and get more correspondance in. As I've been known to say lately, "time is short".

One week to go!

Yes, you read it right............One week to go!! Man, am I stoked. So here's my itinerary as far as I know it. I leave Charlottetown on the 17th, arrive in Nashville at some point to visit Grace (and maybe Kat, from Norway), then I cruise from there to New Mexico to visit Joy, then I cruise there to maybe Detroit to visit Katherine, (how come all these people I'm going to visit are all beautiful women?, oh well, no time to worry about that), then I cruise from there up to St Catharines for school on the 5th of September. A looooooong haul, to be sure. Something I realized not long ago is that Joy, Grace, and Kat , were all from House #9 in Pemba last summer, and fed and made coffee for myself on more than one occasion! Now they get to do it all again!!! Sweet.

Yesterday I was talkin to Celia in mozambique. Were were discussin James 1:5, where it says that if we ask God for wisdom, it will be given to us. Interesting. I prayed for her, stating that in 1 John it says that if we ask according to God's will, it will be done for us. Done deal. These 2 passages line-up so that you can be assured that asking for wisdom is a prayer God will answer, no questions asked. I assume your motives have to be in line with seeking God as well, but that sort of goes without saying. Anyway, that led into a brief chat on James 3:2, which says if we can control our speech, we can control the rest of our body as well. Wow! Thats a hardcore statement. I want some of that!!

So anyways, I work all weekend, and then I'm outta Harvest House on monday. Time on PEI is gettin short

Talladega Nights/Dr. Heather

Last night I met Ryan & Tonya (who are expectin a baby real soon!!), and Kristina (who just had to get out of the car and take that picture of the dog; I guess you had to be there?) and we went to the Drive-In and seen Talladega Nights. It didn't impress any of us really. I actually, wouldn't even recommend people to waste their money on it. Not that it was horrible, but it was far less than really, worth seeing. The second movie was Little Man, but we were all kinda tired and figured that it would be worse than the first, so we cruised'er out a there. Today, though, I heard that Little Man was actually better than Talladega Nights. The source might not be "totally" reliable though? Regardless, we didnt stick around for it. I value sleep more than mediocre movies.

In other news, it's a beautiful day. Church was an event as always. I was talking to Heather (from New Zealand) this morning for a couple of hours, and if any of you want something to pray about, pray that a good Bible believing, Spirit filled friend would show up on the Tokoroa
scene for her to fellowship with. Without like-minded people to hang out with, life seems more difficult to wade through.

Heather and I spearheaded the non-attended Young Adult Meetings at FaithWorks Center for a while. She turned out to be a great forum for me to unleash my doctrine against sunday-morning Christianity, and the Spirit of Indifference I believe hamstrings most of the First World Church. Uh-oh, here I go again! Seriously though, Heather is a great example who is more willing to get her hands dirty with Gospel work than 90% of the people I know. And with that I end...............

(none)

The last couple of days have been so slow that it's CRAZY!!! Seriously. If the next couple of weeks is gonna be like the last couple days, I'm not gonna make it! But, I went to the Acadian bus station here in Charlottetown today, and they sell Greyhound Discovery Passes right there, so there's no need of me trying to secure passage to Moncton to start my trip. I can leave right from here. Thats a bonus. I was also thinking about how long it's gonna take me to get to New Mexico, and I am thinking about taking off maybe 4-5 days before I originally planned. If I make a couple of stops on the way down, then I won't have barely a couple days in the 'alien capital of the world!!!' That's no good. So maybe a departure date of, lets see, the 17th or 18th? A little more money for the ticket, but hey, it's just money I'd be spending here, right? Plus, I get to leave almost a week earlier, SWEET!!

In other news, I finished my course on the Pastoral Epistles and have moved onto
Apologetics. An extremly interesting subject, all would agree. After Apologetics, I just have Blood Covenant, and I am finished with my first year courses. I will still have to make up 4 credits when I get to WIBI, but hey, thats o.k., I can handle that when I'm there.

So yeah, I'm just here at
the church waiting for the rest of my Worship Team members to get here so we can start running through the song list for the weekend and next week when Alistair Petrie lands to do 4 services here on the Island. So, gotta go............

just stuff, nothing too special

So, my car lease was finished on July 19, but I was able to hang onto it for another month till I cruise. Bad thing is I had to get it inspected, and I needed tire rod ends(?), whatever they are? I know they are about $320 though :(. Ouch! That was my bus ticket money!! So it set me back slightly but oh well, cest la vie, so they say. And there is exactly 3 weeks to go before I leave, to the day.

In other news, I am doing a correspondance course on the Pastoral Epistles (1 & 2 Timothy, and Titus). I just finished a verse by verse dissection of 1Timothy, which was awesome, to say the least. Weird thing though was that the last lesson was mysteriously cut off, which is not cool at all, cause some of my very favorite scriptures are contained in 1Timothy 6. But nonetheless, today I started 2Timothy. Good stuff.

And you may have noticed my new Poll of the Week (to the right on my sidebar). It has to do with who you think would win a fight between Mike Tyson and Angelina Jolie. You may be thinking that its a weird question to ask? It's even weirder to have a dream where the two of them are in a boxing ring slugging it out, and Angelina actually lands a couple lefts and a right which stagger Tyson before he knocks her out!! Oh yes, the last 3 nights, my dream life has reawakened. I doubt I'll let you know though what they are about. So take the poll and let your opinions dictate the outcome.....................
